Not sure if anyone can help... I have been quoted £46 to have new keys added to my car (just the immobiliser needs to be programmed I think)

This seems a little steep, but the real issue is the timing, I cant be without my car during the week, no one will give me a courtesy car, and everyone has told me I cannot do it at the weekend?

I have access to a vag com, is it possible to pair in keys with that? Or does anyone know of someone in London who is cheap?

The correct way to do this is for your dealer, once he has evidence that you own the car, to request that new coding is sent up to his VAS tool, I believe that this "sent data" is only valid for 24 hours. You then take your car in with all keys new and old and he recodes the car and the new keys. In short, you can't do this with VAG-COM unless you had a note of the time and date that a previous re-coding had been done (or so I believe). Keys can be cloaned though I also believe, but as these systems use rolling codes I can't see how that would be very useful. I would think that any VW dealer will be able to arrange for a courtesy car, if you pay for it and give them enough notice, also any VW dealer would do this at the week-end - but that would mean you would also need to take theh car in the day before so that they could "order up" a new coding.

Rule number one of car ownership, plan to be without it as at some time or other you will need to be without it - all simple stuff really!

Key coding cant normally be done on a weekend, as even though they can order the code, to program it they need to be online to germany on VAS, which only works Monday to Friday for key programming. That was how it used to be at my dealer
