Replacing Top Mounts - Coilovers

Afternoon, made a thread the other month about a knocking, the definitive answer was top mounts gone, so am just about to order some AP coilovers and may aswell do all the top mounts at the same time when the suspension is in pieces, anything else I should replace at the same time?

And, anybody recommend the cheapest place? EuroCarParts at £10.50 a pop is best I think so far.

Cheers, Ed

Top mounts have something called an axial bearing fitted in them, which ensures the strut and springs stay put when you turn the wheels, as otherwise it would make the mount turn.

The VW top mounts are more than suitable, so just get a replacement set. My ones are OE quality from GSF and they are perfect matches for the OEM ones.

The rears dont have bearings just a mount

I think the fronts are £10 each for the mount then you need a bearing too not sure of the price on that. Rears are £6 i think.

Best thing to do is call them up

I think I recall Si spending around £50 for the set when he did his? As Alex said, just simply give them a call.

The part numbers are :

Bearings : 6N0412249C
Mounting : 6N0412331E

I paid £9.97 inc VAT for the bearings, and £12.81 inc VAT for the mount.
