As above stated, i have broadband and no wireless router as my computer cd drive is broken so cant download router info so its compatible!

Is there another way to go online, like directly thru the phoneline??? i have an ether-net cable but looks like a need a telephone to ethernet cable box thing lol???

Try searching for wireless signals you never know someone round you might have theirs open

Have you got a wired router/modem for your internet, or is a USB modem into your pc?

There are ways around this

if you have an ethernet cable, you can simply plug from the back of your ps3 to your router or modem.

Craig - you have to have a modem to connect to the internet. What does your phone line plug into?

To get your PS3 online via an ethernet cable you need a broadband router and a phone line to plug it into. So it needs to go like this:



Yellow line = Phone line going from the router to the DSL filter that goes into your phone socket in the wall

Red line = Router's power cable

Blue line = Ethernet cable going from the router to the PS3

If you have a wireless router you don't need to connect the router via an ethernet cable but I would recommend using an ethernet cable for online gaming unless the wireless router is in the same room as the console. Hope that helps.
