I got my car back but they said theirs something wrong with the reverse light switch, something about the seal is broken or wont fit in place proper to stop abit of oil leaking? So they said i need to change that in order for the oil to stop leaking. So wondering how much are these generally?

Also same with the Clutch cable, they say its abit stiff so the clutch aint engagin properly to change gears or something? so it needs to be changed? wondering if some wd40 would be good on it ? or how much are these generally?

Thank you guyz :)

The garage can tell you anything they like... Do YOU think it needs a new clutch cable?

Make sure its clipped properly onto the bulkhead behind the engine.... a bit of spray grease on both ends of the cable and work it back and forth usually helps... unless the cable is worn and frayed...

yeah thes thing with garages i hate!...they can tell you anything you like and its up to you to believe them or not.

Regards to the clutch cable, well i find it quite hard get into the reverse gear sometimes, and 2nd gear. Since the Clutch has been changed less then 2 years ago but i doubt the clutch cable was changed. Should it have been changed then?

also with the reverse light switch, i dont know anything about, they say there is a little leak which isnt a major problem, but its better to fix asap before all oil goes or if it just suddenly gets fookered up more then it all pores out?

That sounds you need linkage adjustment if you cant get into specific gears - not a new clutch cable.

yeah i just sprayed some trusty WD40 on it today and seems to be much easier to press the clutch pedal down. Im just going to call up the garage and ask them why i needed to change it, if its not worn or frayed i dont see much point in changing it.

Alex to linkage adjustment? is that where you adjust the 2 nuts on the clutch cable the 10mm and 13mm?

What are the general life of a clutch cable if there is any ?

Ah good

No Linkage adjustment is the gear shift rods - its a very precise adjustment that requires alot of care, attention, and in most cases a special jig to line up. Not something you should do yourself by any means due to the complexity and importance of the rods.
