I'm so confused, i have no idea what to do. I basically want a new sound system in my Polo but wanted to keep the standard HU. I found out that the BETA unit which i have cant have an amp connected to it so i know have to buy a new head unit,

1)First question is can anybody recommend a HU which looks good in the Polo :)

Secondly speakers, i have no idea what ones to look for, i hear 6x9's are rubbish when being used with a sub so,

2) Second question is would you recommend me getting a sub or just sticking with some 6x9's.

3) Once the stock speakers are amped by the HU is there a considerable change, and would you still recommend upgrading all the speakers.

Thanks guys

All you need is a good set of components, amp and a sub. Job done

Not sure mate, you can to the Gamma (Which is 2 channel stereo vs 1 channel stereo as is the case of the Beta), so een if you could, you'll probably only get a sinle channel, which isn't great. You'd be best off upgrading to something aftermarket like Pioneer or Alpine.

As mentioned above, a good set of components and a sub is what you want. Don't bother with 6x9s or coaxials. My plan is to evenutally remove the rear speakers from my car and use mount a single 8" sub in the right hand rear quarter panel with an amp in the left hand rear quarter panel. Front stock components will either be amped by ~50W RMS each, or replaced with something more potent, depending on how the stock speakers sound with the sub.

Ash :)
