Just wondering...
My BBS' are very corroded, as most GTi wheels.. Do they have to be sandblasted and powder coated to sort them out??

To be honest, I have no idea what powercoating & sandblasting is? Is it just another form of refurbing?

Sandblasting just takes of all the paint and dirt on the alloy, so in the end you are left with bare metal. Powedercoating is simply painting the wheel to the colour you want. I would recommend getting them sandblasted and powdercoated as this will give you a better finish.

if it's just the rim thats corroded however, and not the centres a simple strip down and polish up will do the trick.

Simple explanation - Thanks. Tim is the full 4 wheels that are corroded, so sandblasting etc is needed. :)

Corrosion can only be treated with sandblasting out as just rubbing it out wont go down deep enough, Ur best of working ur way through grades of paper gettin finer and finer until u can polish them up and then seal the polished lip with clear coat!

Easy enough to do pal!
