Well, for the interest of others, what was the root cause of your problem and what was done to fix it?

OK, this is a different cause of shaking but I have a problem with my VW Polo (year 53). I always use unleaded petrol but in a moment of madness, well, it was a long queue at the other pumps, I had used Shell V-Power instead. After a few days, I'm now finding the engine is vibrating and jumping and the gas exhaust warning light comes on in the dashboard. The engine dies if I don't rev but I can't understand why my Polo cannot cope with Shell V-Power with RON 99. I guess I'll have to take it to a garage to drain the Shell V-Power. What a waste of time and fuel! Can anyone suggest a better solution? Thanks in advance!

Keep topping the tank up with normal unleaded - itll be fine after the balance sorts itself out. Some cars dont like 99 ron for some reason - its really odd!

Can't see why rough idle would be down to using super fuel...I would hazard a guess you've got a CAT or camshaft related problem IMHO.
