hi everyone.
i spend a bit of time on the weekend doing a little project on the dash lights, and lighting inside the car. i have a canon red 6n polo 1.6
well here's some pictures

, i took them on my iphone as i don't have a camera

, so sorry if the pictures are abit crap.
i did this by myself and took me most of the day.
door open, looking into the car.

the LED foot wells only come on when the doors open, and turn off when the doors are closed.
p.s i know i need new floor mats. lol
speedo

headlight switch

center dash
there is a little more i want to do with lighting but waiting for some good weather
but i'd rather show you guys then tell you.
more pictures up soon.
i would like some feedback...

Looks good mate. How did you wire the footwell lighting in?
Dash lights look great, however, you need to ensure the direction indicators are green when you are indicating, as red can cause problems at MOT time.

really? ill have to ask around about the direction indicators. ive seen it done else where, so thought it would be all right.
well the footwell lighting is pretty simple, for the live just cut in to the cigarette lighter (red cable) and to earth it, run the earth cable down the side of the car pull the rear door cards off and connect the earth to the red door push button thing (dont know the name for it) i believe the wire was the brown one with the white line. so when i open a door they come on.

you could also wire it upto the main light in the car
so you have 3 settings for it OFF(to the right), Only on when doors open(middle) and always on(to the left)
incase some of you are still a bit confused, i mean the light on the roof tht you can shift from side to side for different fiunctions, ie like above
have been thinking about this before but not actually done it yet
nice mod, and the red and white makes it look a bit more modern
@henri_merri im sure they pop out, or unscrew or something, not fiddle about there in awhile as im the middle of a dash conversion, but sure they pop off with the actual dials aswell
but im sure Sonex86 will clear it up for you

Nice mate thats looking sweet! I was thinking about changing the speedo entirely in mine by mate said it would be too hard and suggested just changing the lights behind the speedo to Blue and White. How much did it cost you to do and where did you get the lights from?

sorry i have an automatic translator in explorer, try this site
http://translate.google.co.uk/translate ... /index.htm
well it was hard to source the LEDs for the speedo,(links above) but changing them over wasnt to bad, i watched this video was a guide
https://www.youtube*.com/watch?v=dotVYFoORUk please note i have a facelift 6N which most can tell from the pictures above.
the heater switch was the hardest to do went through a lot of experimenting to get it right.
i have a spare around somewhere so ill make a guide up this week.
the window switches were dead easy. and the headlight switch wasnt to bad, but still went had spares.
no problem with MOT, the guy asked me if I could do his car. lol

I assume that the clocks you have here are later 6N ones?
I assume they will need fettling to work in an analogue 6N from '96?
