fitting a 2.8vr6 engine into a 9n

how would you go about this and howe much would it cost roughly

also what clone car could i use


any information would be great

It wont be cheap.... I was talking to the lads at MB and they suggested me going for VR in the polo, they said it would probs be same amount of work as dropping a 20vT in. Gunna need locks, keys, ecu, enginge loom, clocks, ignition barrel, custom exhaust, the vr box, + more.

But if 1 can go in a 6n it should go in a 9n lol.

Could use a mk3 golf VR6, rado vr6.

I would advise you to go for a the 1.8t insted, as the engine is lighter and more easily tunable.

Apparently the weight difference is negligible but I would agree on the tunability.


As for a 20vT into 9N being easy.............. :shock:

Go for the 1.8T 20V

The VR6 is not the most tuneable or quickest engine going and does weigh a fair bit.
Most VR6 engines have done over 100K now as well so finding a low mileage engine might be tough.

I am sure you would be pleased with either of the above 2 engines but I would opt for the 1.8T because of the tuning potential.
