Hiya mate, your car is probably a 6N (mark4).

is it the same mark as this?

In regards to induction kits, your looking at very small gains, although it is good to free up airflow. But it's all about the noise really.

Start with the basic.

An induction kit is mainly noise or very little gain in performance. However, get yourself a BMC kit for induction.

4-2-1 Manifold
De-cat or sports cat or some kind.
Bacbkbox (specific to your motor and not universal)
Schrick fast road cams
6n2 GTI bottom end
Rally bearings for the gearbox (hopefully would make the chocolate gearbox slightly stronger!)

That's all I can think of lol. I was going to do all of the above but I had too much bad luck and high insurance meant performance gains was out of the question.

Search for 'FrankiePolo' who has a build thread or something in the mk4 section. He had a valver geared towards power.

Changing everything apart from the cams you should see 130bhp.

Schrick cams would give you a lot more but costs around £500 on its own! Worth the pennies although I haven't done it myself. Not sure how much bhp the cams would add to the 130bhp. Perhaps ask around as a few people have done it.
