I'm sure I'm not the only one to hate being asked the question "how low are you?", as being on coilovers you're never quite sure.

I was thinking...

Can someone (Or better still a few people) with a GTi on standard wheels and standard height measure the following:

Floor to the top of the front arch
Floor to the top of the rear arch

As pictured here:


And maybe also

Floor to the bottom of the front splitter (as pictured here):

And the same on the rear bumper?

I think a few people would benefit from the following results, as everyone could get a good indication as to how low they're actually riding

I took some measurements yonks ago the night before my coilovers were fitted. Will have a search and dig them out.

EDIT:

I only took measurements from arch to centre of rim.

Just popped out with the tape measure for you.
Mine is:

Front: 60.9cm from floor to arch.
Rear: 62.1cm from floor to arch.

But using Si_GTi's method (arch to centre of rim):

Front: 35cm
Rear: 35.6cm

Measurments taken on the flat with no weight in the car, half a tank of petrol and all tyres at 32psi.

Just did mine,

front arch to floor 53.5cm (but just dropped it another 10mm so will be 43.5cm)

rear arch to floor 53.5cm.

So I'm down about 85mm all round, altough my fronts lower than the rear.

Shouldn't be too long 'till its closer to the floor!
