Lowering?

I have a 9n3 06 1.2
I got a set of 16" VW Mk4 Golf alloys with 205/45/r16 tyres
I want to lower the car so it sits tidy on the wheels
I don't really want to coil overs
How low should i go, what springs should I get and where from that is not going to break the bank?

Thanks
Tom

If you are wanting to lower it that much on springs you will need new shocks.

So you might as well spend a little more and get a good set of coilovers.

I had 30mm springs on and wanted to go lower the day after I fitted them.

Mate coilovers are the way to go, most coilovers only run 30 percent dampening so they are'nt that harsh to run but you can go to 60 mm lowering springs but as your man said the dampers eventually get fudged because they are not meant to go that low.
Go for coilovers dude it will save aload of trouble because you can then raise it and lower it when you want to.
