i know this aint necessarilly 9n3 related, but i need help and you lot may know
im trying to trace some family and need to know if they are still alive, i have a suspicion they have now passed and have been trying to search through death recods, but you have to subscribe and pay to use them, is there an alternative way i can find out, ideally free of charge other than travelling to that burough council to look through electoral and death records?
cheers

Re: help regarding death records
As tracing family trees is quite fashionable nowadays, I'd reckon that there will be no free way to find any thing out - other that as you said visiting the "parish" that they were last known to live in. Once you have subscribed I'd imagine that for a short period or for checking so many records, you would gain access to what you needed - never tried it though, might some day but I tend to know all about at least the previous 3 generations (well think that I know!!).
