Finally got round to running vagcom on my polo last night. Came up with the following fault codes - The engine check light has been on for quite some time but I've chose to ignore it 'cos it hasn't affected its performance...

So basically what I'm looking at is replacing the camshaft position, lambda and O2 sensors... Yeah? Anyone have any idea of how much these sensors will cost me from VW? And are they easy enough to fit etc...

I wouldnt worry too much about lambda and o2 sensors - just check all the wires are plugged in from the cat and manifold.

As for the sensor, my one went too

Its the sensor on top of the rocker cover to the right hand side - just order one of those up and youll be done!

How do I know which lambda sensor it is that's causing the fault code to come up? I've looked on euro car parts and there's about 5 difference lambda sensors!

Oh another thing - ECP don't stock a camshaft sensor? Is there another name for it?

Im pretty sure the VW part number is 030907601B or C depending on your chassis number - best thing to do is remove the old one and take the part number off that.

I strongly recommend getting a genuine VW one as this sender when supplied as copy parts tend to fail

Thanks Alex. I'm assuming you're on about the camshaft sensor? Any thoughts on the lambda sensor?
