B&M Short Shifter Problem

Just fitted my B&M short shifter, which was bought of ebay for £100! After fitting it i fount that selecting the reverse gear makes a slight scraping noise as if the shifter is hitting something. I have tried my best to see what the problem is but can't find any bits rubbing together. So i wondering is this normal?
Also when selecting gears, sometime the shifter gets stuck so you have to give it abit of a wiggle and it then works as normal. Again is this normal?
Finally, when bolting the pivot rod what position must you keep this in so that all gears are selected smoothly...is there a technique on doing this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You didnt put the spring in backwards did you? I know when Rhys fitted his, Tim spotted that he fitted the spring backwards, which made gear selection a little difficult!
My shifter never gets stuck either so something sounds wrong in the fitting.

Thanks for the replies. I took the whole thing apart again today and greased everything up and replaced the B&M pin with a keyring thingy. I followed the instructionss perfectly and i believe the problem has been solved. The gears are now easier to select and it doesn't get stuck! Feels great. A recommended upgrade to anyone!!!

Yeh as Alex says it's the pin that the whole thing springs back upon when you move it side to side that would've been the wrong way round. You probably put it back together the correct way without noticing
In terms of the pivot rod adjustment, that's just for the neutral postioning IIRC, so the stick sits straight when in neutral.
