Questions...

Hello again!

Just sailed through the MOT, so can now start playing! (until the gearbox dies lol) So i have some questions;

1. Ive been looking at stubby drivers side mirrors. I know il have to spray one if i get it, how difficult is that? Does the assembly come apart easily? Also could a manual one be adapted to electric? Also if i buy something from German ebay will it actually turn up?

2. Been looking at wheels too.I quite like the idea of refubing some myself but dont know at lot about it. Do the centres have to be powder coated? Ive tried looking at the refurb thread, but the pictures are all dead. Does anybody have any pics or an orignal post?

Thanks in advance

Tom.

Someone will have the guide on here somewhere. The centres don't have to be refurbed, just depends on the condition of them.

the mirror casing just comes off with some persuasion. I would take it to a professional to get a sprayed personally, it'll cost almost the same to buy all the paints. the finish isn't likely to be perfect either unless your good at spraying.

I can't speak for every German seller, but mine had no issues with arriving here. I just sent them a kind polite and simple email and they responded.

Thanks Tim! Been looking at some quite tatty wheels, even the ones I have the centres arnt great. So im assuming that they will need doing. What I really meant was do they have to be powder coated or can the be sprayed as normal like the rest of the body work?

No problems when I bought my stubby mirror off German eBay. Most sellers are quite good with English so normally its straightforward. Some sellers don't support Paypal or are a bit funny about it - everyone in Germany loves bank transfer payments - but other than that its simple.

I agree with Tim - get them painted professionally. Cost me £30 to get a pair of stubby mirror caps done last year :)
