HIDS

Hi all,

Just a quick question. I am looking at getting a set of HIDS of HIDS4U. However im not sure which set i would need to purchase...

go to ebay and buy the cheap ones from china 40quid n do the same thing :lol:

Chewy if i recall you have a 9n :)

Do they work fine on a 53 plate. From reading the site they recomend the dearer kit

They work fine and ive got the second kit. Interferes with the radio every now and then when they are on, but that doesnt bother me too much.

I gone for the 6k temp.

Chewy you got the 8k??

They look slightly more blue through a projector.

Aye av got the 8k and are a bit blue, replacing with 6k after xmas

I take it the only difference with the more $ kit is the ecu cancellers?

If this is the case could i just buy a set of cancellers? And fit them on.

Purchased the 2nd kit (Pro) today. Will be here tommorow :)

Fingers crossed they dont throw any ecu errors at me.

Quick update:

Well i have fitted the Pro kit. Been on there from saturday with no ecu errors.

Driving to work this morning engine managment light came on. Its strange it did not come up straight away.

I unplugged the lights for a few mintues and te error light went off.

They are currently just behind the H7 light covers. Would the heat affect the ballast?

Not the heat, but the signals from the ballasts. Happened to a guy who fitted them on his 6n.

Mount them as far forward as you can.

Turns out i was reading the error light as the ECU however from reading the manual it turns out the light is this one below

Get it on vag com thats the emissions light could be any of a number of things EGR valve, Lamba etc etc etc
