Re-programming central locking etc

My dad got a letter from Audi this week offering him the chance to get the central locking reprogrammed on his A4 so that the doors lock once the car reaches 5mph. So, as my Polo seems to share a lot in common with the Audi technology-wise, if it's possible to have the same done to the Polo? I've got the remote central locking pack on an '04 Twist 1.4TDi.

Also, it really irritates me when I go to unlock the car with the remote that only the driver's side door unlocks, and that for the passenger side to open I have to press it again. Any idea if this can be turned off?

Cheers,
Brian

The Polo can do these things.

Either get your dealer to do it for you, or if you have or buy VAG-COM it takes seconds to do.

Alternatively, if you're near someone with vag-com I'm sure they’ll do it for you.

You can do lots of things like :

Change the sound of your alarm tone
Alarm 'beeps' for lock/unlock or both
Auto lock/unlock
Automatic selection of air circulation when put in reverse
Rear wiper coming on when reverse is selected
Make it so ALL doors unlock with one press
Steering weight ( hard to find codes)
Activate cruise control (if you want to do a retro-fit)

There is more but I can't remember them all!

Its called Anti-Hijack and I'm sure someone on here said it could be done. Try PMing Rooboy as he seems to be the resident VAG-COM expert

Anyone planning to bring one of these vag-com machines to inters??

you could probably make a couple of $$'s with the amount of people on here...

Does your autolock allows you to open ther doors while the engine is running thru the unlock button on the driver's door?

my cobra alarm has the auto lock function but i have it disabled because 3 seconds after i turn on the ignition the doors lock (so far so good :P) but then the unlock button dos not work and stays disabled until i turn off the ignition! This is quite unpleseant because if i want to pick up someone for example to open the doors i have to options:

1) turn off the ignition
2) open the door manually

Can somebody tell if VW charge anything for enable that feature since all that's needed for this to work is allready in the car! ;)

Hmmm...
Change the sound of your alarm tone
Alarm 'beeps' for lock/unlock or both
Auto lock/unlock
Automatic selection of air circulation when put in reverse
Rear wiper coming on when reverse is selected
I though all those things were standard on all Polos... Guess I was wrong.

And no, the 5mph/8kph autolock thing doesn't disbale the unlock button on the driver door.

Now, I've seen a photo of a German Polo with a switch for popping the boot lid open from the interior (just beside the warning lights switch in the centre console).

Can this mod be done by fitting the switch and re-programming w/ VAGCOM?

I always wanted my car to beep when I locked it remotely. Any of you Glaswegians have vag-com?...
