Phone call from VW and my dealer to say bushes and tool arrived . Car booked in for Friday ....... Watch this space .....

What's the difference in the bushes? I heard they're a different colour?

Post the details because I too will be going to the stealers and showing them some posts!

What problem were you getting with the old bushes?

My car needs to go in for plenty of other stuff but they keep fobbing me off that the bushes arent in so i need proof that they are so i can get it booked in as they wont book it in until they got all the parts.

Im not that bothered about the bushes its things like the steering geometry thats way out, the horn that sounds like noddy's car, the dashboard that sounds like a can full of gravel (there is a modified dash out apparently), the sqeuaking drivers seat, the faulty re-circ system, the windows that go down when you are trying to put them up, the awful smell when u switch the air-con off, the creaking doors etc etc......... ive also had the roof sprayed under warranty. Id chop it in for a Skoda but I aint prepared to lose money on it when its not my fault and as u say vw uk dont give a s**t.

The horns are in a stupid place! Near the passenger wheel and once water is in them.....

The dash I KNOW I could sort it if only I knew how the smooth plastic part came off that runs along the windscreen.

Other than that have I just been lucky?

I did have the creaking doors which tuned out to be the rubber at the very top.

Please, please -- if anyone can find *anything* more about this I would so love to learn of it. There are occasions when I would like to drive along wihtout the stereo cranked up.

The thing is I am almost sure it's the air vent(s) underneath the plastic smooth part that is touching each other.

If one was to attempt a DIY fix I am sure it would work.

I have taken it to 2 or 3 dealers and they have said 'nothing can be done, it's the way the plastics are'. Bull ****! The main problem is getting past the airbags.

In an another way my dash rattle isn't really a rattle.

It's a *clang* or small bump sound when over uneven ground.

Took the car in earlier tonight all ready for its operation tomorrow as ive said on earlier post its for the bushes to be replaced again . Service manager told me these are modified bushes mark 2 waweeee !!!!!!!!!!!!! .
Not long after getting the car brand new last March they fitted modified bushes mark 1 which are in the car at present and the front end suspension feels as if its ready to collapse . Ive found out its only a fault on some not all of the cars that were built in Spain , so if your car was built somewhere else your apparently ok . Only 50 sets of Modified bushes mark 2 have been released to UK garages and my garage need a couple of dozen sets but were only allowed 1 set ..... for me as I was no1 on the list for my garage . Being honest it all sounds a loada b*******s to me but I shall keep you all posted ..... Wish all I had was a squeeky dash ....... LOL !!!!!!!!!

SURPRISE SURPRISE ive been fobbed off once again

From dealer:

Dear James

We are awaiting receipt of all the new tooling required to carry out the replacement of the front bushes and as soon as we have all the equipment we will contact you and arrange a suitable repair date.I cannot at this moment advise you when this will be and would suggest that if your car tyres are illegal that you replace them before the bushes.

The other items you mentioned will be rectified when the vehicle comes in for the suspension modification.

I would replace the tyres but i'm not prepared to fork out Â£260+ for new tyres when the steering is as badly out as it is (cause of the premature tyre wear). This is nothing to do with the suspension mod and is just pure bad workmanship from when it has been 'repaired' by Inchcape.

As I said the bushes can wait, its the steering, dash and horn that I want sorted as these are the most important (and annoying) faults. (I would like to be able to drive the car one day in a straight line without the radio up loud.)

So if you would be kind enough to call me (as you never return my calls) so I can get it booked in with or without the suspension mod.

At the very least I need the steering and horn fixed before 7th May as i'm going away in the car or I will need a suitable replacement car for that period.

If I do not hear anything from yourselves, I shall be back in touch with VW UK and the RMI or SMMT as I think I have been more than reasonable over the last year.

My number is ... and ill look forward to hearing from you.

What do I think ? ........... Loada s**t !!!!!!!!!!!!!
My missus picked the Polo Up from Garage but ive not been out in it yet , bushes and freebie 1st service + a few other things sorted . Service manager did give me a call to let me know it was ready and to say the bushes slipped into place without use of any special tool at all , and they were slightly smaller and made from a diffrent material from the previous 2 sets . So let your dealer know that he dont need no special tools at all .

To ensure we keep complete all the work when the car is in we will advise you when we have the necessary equipment and relevant parts in stock this date cannot be confirmed at this moment.

With regard to your statement that the steering is badly out and is just pure bad workmanship from when it was 'repaired' by ******** I find offence and would like to see the evidence that suggest this before taking the matter further.

We will contact you on your mobile as soon as we have the equipment and parts too complete the repair in one visit as I have stated before once we have everything to hand we will contact you.

If you feel it will help speed up repairs then please contact the contact VW customer care etc.

After this i phoned up and they are hoping to get the tool in to do the bushes but its going in whatever on the 26th after i gave him my what for about him taking offence and their bad workmanship!
