Right dont know if this a severe problem or not as car drives fine
but when decellerating in any gear there is a whining noise from the car..
Only recently happened
its a 98 1.4 8v with 74 on the clock

The exhaust is also a bit blowy so it adds to the effect . . .
its recently had a service, could this just something small or what?

Also when accellerating hard it doesnt sound quite right, like its got a charger almost
only really quiet... not unbarable or loud, but doesnt sound right.

Or i could just be a muppet as im comparing the noises to my old 1L 6n.

thanks :x

Dip the clutch when your foot's off the gas. If the whinning stops then you definately have a gearbox with shoddy bearings. With gearbox bearings you'll hear it more when decellerating so it may be the cause.
