Angel eyes Question

Hi, thinking of getting some angel eyes in my car but only for the projector lens so that I fit hid bulbs without blinding anyone
Could anyone tell me if the angel eyes on the polo have a standard side light bulb in the inner lamp like the original lights because I am thinking of disconnecting the angel eyes as its not my cup of tea.
thanks in advance.

Don't think so mate, I think the angel eyes themselves acts as the side lights...the inner (smaller) lamp just houses the high beam. I wouldn't mind HIDs + angel eyes, but am a bit worried about the angel eyes themselves looking a bit chavy/tacky...Just wish they did normal projector lenses for the 9n

The rings act as side lights. There are 5 bulbs in the ring tht goes round the projector and 4 bulbs in the line seperating the indicator and the projector.
The projector makes the HIDs look more blue.
If you have the HIDS lined up correctly then they shouldn't dazzle on coming drivers even in a normal reflective headlight.

thats exactly the same reason why i am thinking twice about them, if they already had a sidelight bulb slot then I could of disconnected the angels and use them as projectors but I have now found out that's not the case.
@Veedub9n - thanks for the info mate, might look into that but really wanted the projectors to get that factory look to them.

Could always drill a hole in the inner light and put 1 of the bulbs through. Get a brighter bulb, they are only interior size light bulbs and you can get brighter 1s from halfrauds.
You wouldnt have any light coming form the rings or line if you take ther bulbs out, but they would still be in the headlightlight, unles you can take the lense off and remove it....

thats a great idea, might just do that. I can check where the sidelight should be by looking at my original headlights and then drill a hole and put in a sidelight and I can light up the sidelight instead of the angels

I might give that a go tbh. Ive got a set just gathering dust anyway.
I only bought them so I had headlights to use while I seperated and painted the oring headlights.

i been tempted to buy the angel eye headlights just for the projector, not a fan of the angels myself either would have disconected them.

i tried to seperate an old headlight and managed to melt it.. dnt want to trail and error and end up biying mor eheadlights. How did u seperate them? if you could advise me then il give it a go and while im at it been thinking to try retrofitting some projector lense into the housing.
