Hey peeps, Been lurking on this site for ages now but just decided that i should make a topic so i can get my head around some questions i have

Well im due to have my test soon, And my instructors confident i should pass, So ive decided i want to get a polo 6n2 as my 1st car

what i wanted to know is the differences with the 1.4's, I either want to get a 1.0 or a 1.4 8v, I understand the 'SE' model is the 16v one but i cant dream of having that one due to insurance, But what is the 8v one called? Or is it the 'Match edition' if it isnt, what is the 'Match edition' does it include any extras? and also one last thing

Will gti headlights fit straight in? And will the gti fogs be easy to install? Thanks alot guys, Been searching the net all over for some answers but no luck, Even tried on another polo forum but it got ignored

Any help would be much appreciated.

It all really depends on the year and if its the 3 door or 5 door....i think?
Ive got an 2001 1.4 8v Match and it has (kind of) sporty interior. red and black seats. All the others i looked at all have plain seats.
Welcome to polo world!

ive got the 1.4 8v which is 2000 plate 3 door and has the plain grey bobbly interior but says on the logbook polo E, im sure you can get the SE which is an 8v aswell which has electric windows, bigger side skirts and foglights. Gti headlight as far as im aware fit in but do require a slight cut in to allow room for the light ballests , and if you get one without foglights all the wiring is there behind the bumper with a blank on it they plug straight in just need to buy the lights, grills and the new switch can get all that from veedubmachine for about £37
Oh and welcome

Thanks for the quick replies guys! So i take it that the 'SE' model is a more equipped fancier version than the standard? And it had the fogs which is a bonus

so is that the same as the 'Match edition' Thanks again people. Oh and im not after any paticular door number, 3 or 5 will do me fine

Mines a match, but did not come with fogs.
I believe SE stands for Special Edition, and E is Basic. Where as i guess Match is inbetween lol.
In my match i have the red an black interior, 5 doors, electric windows, electric mirrors, heated mirrors. i think the only thing i do have is the air con.
or gti head lights etc.

SE is just the trim. comes with fogs, ac, alloy wheels etc. match is a very basic model. If you go on parkers website, you can compare what is in each trim. Scroll down and look on the right to see what u get on each trim.

heated mirrors? My SE hasn't heated mirrors.. not that I know of anyway
and mine has a sunroof rather than air con.
