Quick question about foglights...

Post by Si_GTi »

Just a quick one really. If I remove my foglights again from the front bumper, where would be a good place to secure the plug and wiring that provides the power for each light? Thinking of using cable ties to tie them out of the way, as last time they were loose and often ended up hanging out underneath the front bumper!

I guess a good idea would be to wrap the plugs in a small black bag, cut up a bin liner and double wrap the ends. Cable tie them to something secure in the engine bay? Just don't attach them to anything hot!

Non-fog models come with blank sockets to hold the unused plug up out of the way. Pics in the diy foglight thread i think. Bit of overkill tho

Thanks both. 8080, if you can find a pic that'd be ace. I've scanned through all 6 pages of the DIY section and can't spot the thread in question! :(

Its on page 2 about halfway down but the pictures don't work. I guess it'll be on any unfogged Mk5 so I don't think you'll have much trouble finding a pair :)

Found a honeycomb set on eBay for £20 inc. delivery, might just buy them. Can chop and change all I want then! Going to check costs with my local TPS guy first...

That's the blank socket broken off:
