Interior light hassell

Alright Gents
A wee problem. Passenger door open the door from the inside and the interior light comes on. however open it from the outside and it doesnt want to know. I believe that I have to change the full door lock mechanism to solve this issue as the micro switches alledgedly are not avaiable separately. Anybody come across this pain in the ass? If so any ideas.
