Stay with Liverpool Victoria then because with Norwich Union, you are allowed "three mods" of which that dont specify type or value but to my knowledge those 3 mods can be anyting as long as you do not tamper with the engine. An idea would be to use those three mods up on body kit, alloys and lowering to look the part but not pay the bill.
good luck tho, insurance is a b1tch

Yeah, Norwich Union are a bunch of ********! Ha ha ! Sorry! I was paying stupid amounts for my 1.4 8v polo with no mods. Then I had a Mercedes Sprinter van smash into me changing lanes without looking and he changed his plee of full responsibility 6 months later when it came to the crunch. Norwich Union doubled my insurance! And I had no mods! Nearly had to sell the car as couldn't afford it but went to Diamond instead. They're cheaper than Norwich Union ever was and they let me have as many mods as I like (as long as I tell them) and I only have to pay a few pennies more for each. Top!

In the Quote You Happy advert the girl says: "erm.. it's a hatchback" and gets quoted happy. It took me the best part of 32 minutes to get my quote and have it put through along with all the Dusty Springfield I had to listen while waiting. I mean they should at least put on some beter on hold music. Manics next time please or I'm goin to Tesco!

I had Endsleigh vs Direct Line vs Norwich Union as the shortlist of people giving me realistic quotes last time i had to renew, and then played them off each other and drew up a little comparison sheet....
Endsleigh won in the end

Maybe just because I was an existing client, but they just managed to undercut the other two like-for-like, and even gave me a *very* nice deal on fully comp (where I was 3PFT before), only about £60 extra. Norwich Union was notable for lack of cover in some key areas, which marked them down despite the low price.. (2nd place overall in the cost stakes)

well norwich union quoted me about £225 fully comp with 5 years NCD for a standard GT. I then added lowered suspension, alloys and an exhaust as mods and that cost me an extra £50.
I did however reduce it by £60 by saying that I was only doing 4000 miles a year and not using to for commuting to work.
I was 33 then, so I guess age helps with the prices.
and they've just quoted me £191 TPFT and that includes no claims protection, which is good as I caused an accident last year and its paid for itself

It seems really funny all this, because I'm with Norwhich Union and they have always been good on the phone and are far cheaper than anyone else. I'm 18, have a 1.4 8v Match and am insured 3PFT. I haven't got any mods, though.
I did go with Endsleigh for a bit, but had a nightmare with them. Basically, they matched my Norwhich Union Renewal price so I went with them. I was paying monthly so paid my first months. Within a few days I got this notice from some 3rd party company saying tha I had a credit account set up with a £1k limit. At 18, that definetely not something I wanted and generally I was pretty unhappy with the situation, especially as none of this had been explained to me before. After a month I decided to cancel the insurance. The guy was totally resonable and said thats fine and he would sort everything. Four months later my mum (whos account the insurance payment goes out of) noticed that tey had still been taking money. So I got in touch with the branch and again, they were helpful and said they would sort it all out an I would get a refund within 5 days. I later found out they actually did f*** all, and payments were still being taken. I was calling them almost daily by this stage and they were promising this and that and asking for documents etc. The final straw was when, 2 months after I first raised the issue, I had just brought my Poo and I had just enough money. I went to transfer the money and the absolute twats has taken another payment. So I had to borrow money off of my dad and look like a complete dick to the seller. Eventually after hours on the phone to the branch and the head office, it turns out that the helpful guy was saying he was doing stuff and simply wasn't. They finally sent through some cheque for £150, about 2 payments worth. We finally went through the direct debit guarantee and got all our money back.
Basically, they are dishonest. I'd avoid them at all costs.

when my sister was with endsleigh, they always got her details wrong, even when its just a renewal! too much bother..
