Remote keyless entry

Hi guys,
On my last 9n Polo I fitted a box which came with two blank flip keys to the car. I had the keys cut and put a chip in each key and allocated the immobilser code to them. The keys were opening the central locking on the car through the box I fitted to the car.
I now have a new TDI Polo which only has central locking with a normal key. Could I program my after market keys to remotely open the car if i put new chips in them with the new immo code? Or should I buy a genuine blank flip key? If I bought a genuine key, would I be able to set it up to open the car remotely or would I need to fit a box for the key to talk to?
Many thanks
