New bulb required or ballast?

i noticed last night when filling up petrol that 1 of my main beam lights on the driver side was temperamental. I switched it on and off and kinda fizzed on and off until it wouldnt fizzback on no more.
I was just wondering what bulb is required for this. i have searched it on the forum but its confusing me somehow.
If not, may it be the ballast? is there a ballast for each side of the car?
The passengar lights are all working perfect, so if it was just 1 ballast for both lights then i assume it is just a bulb problem.
Thank guys

could be your headlight fuse as daft as it sounds, was on my old one, it kept blowing bulbs, turned out to be a dodgey fuse lol

Sounds like the bulb has had it. Get a new set from HIDS4U.co.uk 6000k D2S recommended
There is a ballast each side, but these rarely fail to be fair.

May look and check incase it is a fuse! save myself a few pennies!.
So the bulbs that your recommending me, are they the same ones that came on the car from factory. ? If not, what are the difference?

Same fitment as factory, just more blue. It looks nicer than the milky white that the originals go!
