heya folks, got a 2000 polo gti an apart from the clutch n gearbox goin ive got a couple of other issues.

these being the lights on the dash, the following are light up:

ECP
ABS
Airbag (i fink)

Could anyone tell me if these are common problems that are easy fixes? or will they all need lookin at by a mechanic, because i jus dont have the money to pay VW or someone else to do it if i can do it myself.

I've had the abs and ecp lights.

Reason for the ecp was because of the brake lightswitch under the pedal.

As for the abs. It comes and goes. So no idea with that one !

what exactly was wrong with the switch under the pedal mate?

airbag could just need resetting mine did nothing to worry about just means the battery has been left unplugged for over so many hours and its reset

also the abs light mine did it for abit clean the brakes up see if that works if not new sensors probably need

Common problem - May need replacing. Usually your brake lights won't be working so check that before you set out

my brake lights all work dude. includion the spoiler light

god knows then lol, will have to get VAGcom off my mate

Shouldn't be the brake light switch triggering it then - yeh plug it into the vagcom

Hey guess just wondering . Did u find out what was wrong with ur ABS light staying on?
