VW SAT NAV - DOUBLE DIN
Posted: Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:32 am
I have for sale a very rare genuine VW Sat Nav unit. These units were a £1200 option when new on the polo and for that reason they are very hard to come by. It is a VW MCD not to be confused with the more commom MFD unit which has the larger screen. The VW MCD unit not only allows radio, cd changer and sat nav facilities you can also use the single slot as a cd player. The larger screen MFD units do not have this facility - the single slot on the MFD unit it purely for the Navigation disc.
Unfortunately my unit has an LCD display problem so will need a new screen. Having said that though the unit still functions perfectly with radio/cd/navi however the screen fault hampers the ease of use significantly. Its very difficult to put a price on this as it is very rare, the few I have seen around these days go for approximately £300 in full working order with no faults. On this basis I am going to sell this unit for £100 no offers which is very cheap indeed considering what this cost when new.
This is a cash on collection deal with no returns and the unit will come with the all important 4digit security code. I have managed to purchase myself a new VW sat nav so this is why I am selling and can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to fix this myself.
Any further questions then do ask. This unit looks mint in the dash especially at night all lit up with the OEM blue and red lighting and it has a number of excellent features such as:
Navigation with arrow representation and voice control with variable volume
TMC - analysis for dynamic route guidance
based on blaupunkt navigation platform DX
4 x 20 watt
CD drive for Audio or navigation cd's
CD - Scan-, Repeat- & Mix function
RDS
TMC
2 x 6 FM-, 2 x 6 AM-, 2 x MW broadcaster - storage -
TIM function ( traffic messages)
Places of Interest feature
You will need a sat nav antenna £10 off ebay and a Navi Disc to use the Navigation facility on the unit. Apart from that nothing else is needed. This fits both the 6n2 and 9n polo's - also lupo, golf mk4, bora, passat etc
Below are 3 photos, the first is what it could look like with a new screen, the second is my actual unit with the obvious ink bleed lcd problem and the final photo is a shot of what the unit looked like in my car prior to the problem with the screen.
The unit can be collected from next weekend - Thanks

Just to back up the value of these units still I have found this:
