Wheel cleaning advice!

Post by Godderz23 »

Any tips on and products to clean the polished lip on the standard wheels? Use autoglym wheel cleaner for the wheels themselves but no idea what to use to get the lips sparkling!

Thanks.

Use the AG cleaner to get them clean

Then polish them using either Autosol or Autoglym metal polish (the liquid one)

I use the AG polish and it works wonders ;)

Other products to consider and i would reccomend are Muc off degreaser it's completely friendly and non acidic really good stuff to clean wheels and then to polish the lips up i would use something like Peek polish or Meguiars all mtal polish to bring the lips back to an decent standard.Once you've cleaned and polished them i would protect them with some Poorboys wheel sealant or for a slightly harder coating use Collinite 476s Wax.

poorboys wheel sealant is amazing stuff. but it is just as good as any wax and does the same job

for cleaning the wheels i would reccommend valetpro bilberry safe wheel cleaner
i think metal polish maybe a little harsh onit depending on whichone you get

To get my wheels clean I use ValetPro Bilberry wheel cleaner. Then I polish the lips with Autosol, and seal them with Poorboys wheel sealant.

Excellent stuff like.

If you choose the AutoGlym stuff, make sure you get the one called "Custom Wheel Cleaner" as that is the acid-free cleaner. It has a blue logo on the spray bottle if memory serves. They also do an acid-based wheel cleaner, which you should steer clear of if you are cleaning split-rims or non-lacquered wheels (in other words, your BBS!).
