Headlight casing are GTI's the same as normal?

Long story short one of my headlight casings (the clear lens) is starting to go (looks all marked/scratched), I've tried cutting it down using specialist plastic polish with no luck.
So, I need a new headlight casing, GTI ones are far too expensive from the dealers and GTI ones are hard to find used.
Does anyone know if the clear lens from the rest of the range (non xenon) is the same part as the xenon lens?
Any info would be good!

Yes the clear lens at the front is identical
Splitting them is dangerous though - especially with xenons it could make a total mess!!

I've already done one side as the adjusters had worked loose! I'm pretty good at that kinda thing, but thanks for the info and the heads up.
I may even do a step by step guide on how to do it.

Just ordered some non-GTI lights, they won't be here till next week now, and I'm ordering some new bulbs whilst I'm at it too, so expect the guide in a week or so.

I need to split my headlights as I have two sidelights bulbs stuck in mine

Yeah I will be very interested to see the guide.
My Xenon lens are very hazy despite being machine polished and I think my best bet is to replace them.
