ooo

i called vw marketing today and they told me:

• no alcantara/leather option
• no alternative wheels option
• no pan roof option

also no mention of the apparent xenon headlights

i remember reading about the polo r thats due next year, will apparenly come with leather etc

so im guessing they are saving the 'R' to be released with, full leather, pan roof, different wheels as an option (most likely the motorsport ones) and sting people an extra £2k

so... £20k+ for a polo? no thanks! lol

I found the VW configurator was updated when I looked at lunchtime, so that made up for usual busy day at work.

Can't believe the various options which other countries will get, but which doesn't look like we will get here. Really surprised that there is no leather option or the xenon headlights.

I bet this is Volkswagen UK deciding that if they leave enough options off on the Polo people will trade up to the Golf to get xenon and leather.

Not sure that is the right way to go as most people are into downsizing these days. Giving the customer a wide range I would have thought would be the way to swing a few extra sales.

Guess What ?

Polo GTI has been pulled off configurator on VW website (well at least it was at 8.40pm 19/5/10)

Probably been a little too hasty especially as Polodriver is talking about launch in Germany at end of May.

Oh well, wait continues. Hopefully it will have full options when it reappears

Just had a look and there's no mention of any of those options bar the headlights in the early brochures from France or Germany and those market's spec must be decided by now...

When my order was placed with VW, the xenons were definitely an option once they put it through the purchasing system. Its the only way to get the LED DRLs though.

It doesnt look likely that a multifunction steering wheel is an option though. VW appear to have cocked up in that respect and copied the options over from the other models.

Also, panoramic sunroof should definitely be an option. There are so many pics of Polo GTIs with this option fitted.

Yes the Mulfunction Steering wheel is an option available for £110. Its good it's at least available, but it would have been better had it been standard on the car.

Also to add to my amazement (ie lack of upholstery options and xenons) I forgot the panaramic sunroof which featured on the show cars.

Really not sure what VW UK are up to.

We are ordering it as:

Candy White 3dr
Sensor Pack
Convenience Pack
Climate
Xenons (if available)
GTI MFSW (If available)

Waiting to find out about MFSW (as the details on the site and what the dealer have been told are conflicting) and xenons with led drls.

Ive gone for a standard stereo as i will fit an RNS510 from eBay and GPS Puck antenna. Then get someone to code it via VCDS,

Final spec should include the xenons and a proper GTI mfsw if they are available.

If VW dont hurry up with the specs i might just cancel the order though. Its really frustraing, the dealership and VW UK dont have a clue.

Nope, Lex Autolease. We have 300,000 cars on fleet, so have a very strong buying power. Can get £866 discount on the Polo and 10% discount on options.

Quite a sizeable chunk then and one not to be sniffed at. Let us know when it's been scheduled for build...
