Afternoon Chaps & Chapettes,

Just wondered if anybody could tell me a good place in the Sheffield area or on the net who could get me a K&N filter for my Polo GTi?

I've tried the local Halfords who after 3 weeks still haven't managed to get hold of one.

Cheers

Dave.

www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk in chesterfield (not too far!) should be able to source one.

iirc the K&N has only just been developed (niks on here had the first one) so that might explain the delay

Hi Dave

Don't get a 57i kit or any induction kit that is not shielded for the GTi as they will just end up sucking in hot hot hot air (which is crap!).

Get a K&N Panel Filter.

JBS can get them (that's where I got mine from).

Cheers,

It's only the panel filter i'm after...... I only went to Halfords cos a guy on another Polo GTi forum had said they had got the same filter for him. They said it'd be 3 or 4 days but they still hadn't got it by today (18 days later). Just asked for my money back instead.

I'm still looking on the internet aswell but i'll try the place in Chesterfield and if it works out cheaper to travel over there than to get one sent out from an online supplier i'll go to them.

Josh....Roughly how long did it take them to get the filter for you and can you remember how much they charged?? Halfords wanted £44.

Cheers

Dave.

There's new k&ns regularly on ebay for a better price for the 1.6 gti engine mate! They are appearing every few days!

A guy on the Lupo forum tested a Lupo GTi(same engine) on the rr with the original filter, kn panel filter and kn cone filter. Anyway there was no difference between the 2 panel filters and the cone filter caused a drop of 2 Bhp, so there's no point fitting one for performance reasons. Save the pennies and get a bmc or viper enclosed filter!

Hi Dave,

Yep i looked on E-Bay but saw your post on the other group too.

Ordered it and cost £40 inc. next day postage.

I'll hopefully get it fitted later this week but i've also got a DVD Burner coming this week too so i'll have to free up some time from burning DVD's and playin with the new toy so as to fit the filter.

Cheers

Dave.
