Polo GTI with a few interiors..

Afternoon, Uni done for the year, raining outside, has enough of the xbox for one day, so on here it goes.. Been a member on here for ages but dont really post too much, and managed to miss out on the Bristol meet a few weeks ago, even though I'm about 15 mins away, anyway.. Got my GTi standard 2 years ago, kept it standard for a year for insurance reasons, then, in the last year or so, I've made a few changes..

The good bit is the pics, as, tbh, who is THAT interested in my typing away :p

From the start:

Quick summary of the year mainly in pictures..

Image

Bought, refurbed, sold another set of wheels, too lazy to put them on though

Image

Got some Mk3 Golf Recaros.

Didnt last long, so got some rather nice TT's instead

Image

Needed a rear so got a Mk3 Golf colour concept one and a spare 6N2 bench and over the leather went

Image

And in they go..

Image

Got some stubbys.. which I didnt end up fitting for ages

Image

And some new handles/ switches.

Image

Thought I'd fit some of these, AP's with new top mounts, bearings, nuts, washers, the works..

Image

Getting there..

Image

Ooo... wheels too, custom Black and Anthracite Ronal Turbo's anyone?

Image

Image

Stayed like this for a fair while, then interior change was in need once again..

Image

Don't really look anything special, but look alright when on the car I thought, something different for a while anyway, Ronal R15's

Looking pretty high here, I blame the 165/50 with me not having the patients for the roads around here, enough hassle at the height it is atm.

Image

Rear bumper re-sprayed for free thanks to my mates neighbour scratching it, shame it wasnt the front really as that needed some more paint on it.

Image

So off comes the rub-strip with shocking paint, just getting this one done, then gonna smooth a spare one over the summer (which I bought of Tim from here over a year ago lol), bumper off, rub-strip out, driving it ghetto for a few days

Image

Is it wrong that I really like the black

Image

Then, I did the interior.... again..

Mk4 golf recaros bit of work later.... and they were in..

Will get some proper pics sometime, but..

New Bolsters

Image

Image

Fronts, all adjust, slide etc, perfect!

Image

Image

After the change in seats, I wanted to change on the outside too

For some reason, I decided to spend some monies on a Friday the other month

Image

16x7 and 16x8

Then on Saturday of the next week, I went n got 4 more tyres, 4 new ones for some other wheels :ohwell: Its only money.

Literally 2 or 3 winds on the back down and on they go.

Check out the cool angled pictures, I learnt that all by myself, aka, couldn't hold my phone steady horizontally.

Image

Image

So now I have 2 sets of wheels with new tyres, hmm.

How it sits now, almost the same as how it was originally, just with a garage full of bits to decide what I want to do over the summer

Let me know what you think, Ed

The MK4 Recaros really do look great... comfortable too, I'm sure! Did it take much work to get them fitted?

Cheers all, mk4 werent that bad to get in actually, a bit of time working things out, cutting of some spare polo subframes and the golf ones and some welding, and in they go, fully adjustable etc still. Rears were bit of a mission too, swapped everything over onto a spare polo rear bench, they still fold down etc too, after some trimming. Made sure I didnt change anything in the car so can stick back to standard/ put another interior in if I want :p

Sold them :(

Having the standards and the 928s in the garage my parents werent too happy with me having a 3rd set in there too, bit annoying as I'd hardly seen them on anything 'modern' in the vw scene, really liked them, but with the 165's it was impossible to get the height right and be able to keep my exhaust hanging under the car ha

Got bored the other day so actually tried on all the different wheels I have collected, still undecided which ones to keep, think I'll end up selling both sets of porsche's, 928 should be gone already hopefully and do something different with the ronal turbos, maybe not a wheel liked by many, but I just really like them for some reason..

16x7 and 16x8 Polished Porsche 928's

Image

15x7 Teledials with the rarer low offset for some nice dish on the rears

Image

Image

Really wish I didnt buy so many wheels, as hate having to sell some, but pretty difficult to justify to the parents the garage full of wheels and interiors I have.
