GTI Roofracks

Anyone have any experience of fitting roof racks to a GTI?
I know it has "slots" in the roof with removeable covers... how do the covers come out?
Do the roofracks do any damage to the paintwork etc?

The covers just lift up from the inside and are hinged from the outer edge, you can do this with your finger nail. The roof bars clamp to the bracket which becomes visable when the flap is raised. 6N roof bars are the exact same fitment and will only cause damage if you drop them

And they are dead easy to fit and remove and no damage is done!
