Hey people!

After a few months ownership of the GTI it's time for a really really good service... I have thought of a good few parts which i'm going to replace.. Can anyone think of anything else to add to the list before I order them?

GTI floor Mats (The ones with the red pinstripe)

Suspension/Steering Bushes – Full set please minus the suspension top mounts.
• Wishbone bushes including ball joint (unless its cheaper for a full wishbone with all the gubbins?)
• Rear axel bushes
• Subframe bushes
• Anti-roll bar bushes

Engine mounts (Full set of rubber parts which can be replaced)

Service parts
• Oil Filter
• Pollen Filter
• Fuel Filter
• Sump plug washer
• Oil (Castrol Magnetec 10w 40 has always been used)
• Clutch Cable
• HT leads (Full set – Red ones as standard please)

Cambelt set (whatever is needed for a cambelt change)

Thanks very much!

Spark plugs?

Out of curiosity can you put prices next to all those items when you get them please? :)

Plugs were changed last month.

I can... but I know someone who works in the trade so I'm getting trade prices so they won't reflect rrp...

Its sump plug with washer :P Its an integral part on these.

Air filter too, and possibly brake fluid if it hasnt been changed in the last 2 years.

Got a BMC on it :D

Brake fluid is on the to-do-list as one of the calliper nipples has snapped off so don't want to play until I have a spare caliper

Thats what i'm hoping! It's had new suspension last year and a new clutch not too long ago so should feel nice and tight!

Nice man,it's good to see theres a handful of these still being treated well and given the right parts.

You'll have to update your thread with all the progress of the service mate.

Keep up the good work.

i think trade is like 20% i get things at 'cost price'.
im guessing that would be the same as trade prices.
and i think the only profit vw make on things is 20% but i may be wrong. ive never sat down and worked it all out exactly

Trandmission fluid !!!
i changed mine when i got my GTI made such a big difference in the feal of the gear box
and its cheap at VW (even at full price and VAT...at least cheaper then halfrauds...but hey who isnt)
