Quick update..

My second valver bumper has been plastic welded and sanded. ready for its first skim of fibre glass :)

Plastic welded using the soldering iron method, takes time but its a good result for a first ever attempt. Rear is plastic welded and re-enforced with aluminium mesh that has been melted into the plastic along the whole length of every seem. Fibre glass will be added to reenforce the rear too.. as the bumper stands..

And i have managed to buy something special.. Full 6n2 interior convertion ;) should be doing it next weekend so shall get pics then :)

Any plans for a 6n2 rear bumper ?. I think that would finish it off very nicely.

Insurance renewal time.. £1800 :( Bye bye rota funddd :(

Because of this C U Next Tuesday of a setback, ill be focusing on the tiny little touches that will probably get forgotten or overlooked when buying big things.. so little interior touches etc..

Progress will be slow for a while now :(

On the bright side, 6n2 Doorcards are now in - the convertion is now complete :)

Updates soon..

Dashboard itself is a straight swap. Only thing you have to do is hit/beat/cut out the two mounts that the side of the dashboard fixes into (where you have to open doors to access). These will need to be replaced with 6n2 ones..

Heater matrix is directly swappable between the 6n & 6n2 heater housing - you WILL need ALL the heater components from a 6n2 - housing, blower, directional tubing etc..

The looms have to be modified from 6n2 to 6n - i did NOT do this myself so i cannot take any credit or give any help with this..

So, an update. But by far not a good one. However, ill start with a possitive..

Decided to make due with the wheels i currently had on the car and decided to spray them red. I got a few spray cans of 'VW Mars Red' from work and got cracking.. results werent perfect by all means but i didnt want something perfect as these wheels are hated.

Image
Image
Image

Whilst the wheels were off, i tried on my mates wheels from his Starlet GT Turbo, Sprint Hart & Wed-sports 14".. Look mint in fairness! Cant wait to get my rota's with the polished lip..

Image
Image

And my wheels all fitted..

now.. two days later.. There was snow. Yea, enough said.

Image

Can anyone see where this is going? :(

:( Standard height again for insurance :( stupid woman driver + Snow = Poorly Polo :(!

Wing F**KED, bumper scuffed, dent in door, paint chipped off bonnet and two wheels scuffed with 1 day old paint :(

Updates, well.. repairs soon :(

Bit of an update since the bump..

Car is going in for work.. i say work, the thing is getting dismantled. Boot, bonnet, doors and bumpers are comming off. Along with the windows..

She's having some fresh paint all over.. the last job was in a nutshell: a 'p*** take' of a job. So its getting rubbed back and starting all over from scratch. Properly this time.

Also, Ive bought some New wheels ;)

Updates soon..
