Polo 'OE' Modifications

Hi all,

I've noticed that quite a few owners on the forum have made modifications based on OE parts from other cars in the VAG group - eg. bora sunglasses holder, audi tt ally pedals and so on. I'd like to make a few of these kind of mods myself, particularly ally pedals and that black vw badge i've got somewhere...

What I was wondering was this: are there any cheap/easy/effective OE-style mods that can be done without costing the earth? Or any suggestions on what to replace?

And finally, can I fit a similar unit to Josh's Passat light unit whilst keeping the leccy sunroof controls?

Thanks in advance for your help!

A sunroof version of the W8 light is available and it fits Golf's but I don't know if it fits Polo's.

Thanks guys..

My boss is trying to put me off fitting alloy pedals, says that your feet slip off them when its wet etc. - lol - surely the rubber inserts prevent such things?!

Also, can anyone tell me if the self-dimming rear-view mirror as seen in my 'rents Bora is a simple swap job? Seems to be a case of whipping out the old one and sticking the new one in place...

Cheers

Yup, they should prevent it. They're OE stuff so VW's bound to have given it some thought. I've only slipped my foot off once... It was bound to happen with the stock covers too I think. I wouldn't worry!

If you have rain-sensing wipers now, it'd make life a lot easier. There's only three wires to hook up, and if you have the said option the wires should already be there. The mirror itself is *very* expensive by the way. Expect to pay around the 100 pounds mark @ the dealer.

Eeep!! How much??

I'll keep an eye on the local scrapyards but that kinda ruled out going to VW for one..
