Hey!

Had a new clutch fitted last week and as a result lost my radio code :( VW want about £1m to tell me, so Im not too keen on that idea. I dont have the orginal stereo (gamma?) at the moment previous owner fitted a double din from a Golf of a similar age I think, could be a RCD 200. Basically I think I can get a new headunit cheaper than a code for my old one. Anyone know of any other OEM headunits will fit/work with a 6n2 GTi?

Also, to make things worse one of the slots to get the unit out has no effect whatso ever (top left) will the centre consol come out on its own? And if so does anyone know who?

Cheers guys!

this place will give you a free unlock code ;)

Also, VW will give you the code free of charge - they have no right to charge you for it whatsoever

If you can get the details of the label on the back ie serial number etc, I might be able to decode it for you

Centre console is unscrewed from behind the radio mate - youll have to find a way to unlock it

Thanks for the help! They quoted me £120 + VAT

Anyway, spent all moring fighting with it and I have got it out. Unfortunatly a few guys I know tried to help the other day and its a bit tatty now, so probs looking for a new one. I dont mind what I had, but just wandered if anything newer would fit? I want to keep it VW as I like all the lights to match lol, and I think its less desirable to theives.

Any ideas what this is?

Nope. RCD200 was the last of the ISO head units. Either another or move back to the gamma unit mate.

If you want to use it again, pm me the serial details and ill see if i can decode it
