Trophy Winning MK7 Polo 9N3 GTI 2006/07 1.8t

In the past few months I have spent a small fortune on this, and I will be VERY sad to see it go, but due to business commitments and a pending house move I need to raise some funds.

This is a fantastic little car that draws people’s attention wherever it goes, it is a proper wolf in sheep’s clothing and surprises many larger cars. The sound of it can only be described as similar to an old skool Escort cossie, with an awesome wastegate chatter on the low down, and then followed by an induction roar and chirp from the re-circ valve that is very addictive.

It is surprisingly economical on a run and it is not unfamiliar to see 43mpg on the motorway, which is incredible considering the performance.I have always ran it on V Power and for around £45 to fill, you can expect 300-350 miles.

It won runner up at DC10 this year in the late Polo category.

12 months MOT, tax until Feb 11’
Service history is all from Awesome GTI in Manchester and there are receipts for £3k+ for all modifications carried out by them.

Chassis:
Black Magic – Totally paint-less dent removed & recently mop polished,
Bonnet has recently been re-painted due to stone chips (black cars always show them worse!)
Smoothed front bumper with side strips and number plate recess removed - Matt black centre
Front number plate is on suckers (so can easily be re-moved re-fixed)
Lower Honeycombe grilles
Polo Bluemotion lower front splitter, colour coded
Colour coded GTI side skirts
USA Anniversary Red GTI badges front and rear
Polo Cup Edition rear bumper (rare) with mesh sections filled and smoothed
FK Silverline Coilovers with rear adjusters removed, shorter drop links
M Tech xenon bulbs & Ultra LED side lights
Lamin X all red rear lamps – can be removed if required.
Front upper Strut Brace
Poly Bushes all round
17x8 Calibre Vintage – Custom Fake splits centre badges - 205x40-17 Falken 912’s
Standard 16’ Monza’s (winter wheels) also included & powder coated white (one tyre is low)
Custom rear 10mm spacers and longer bolts
Windscreen has been replaced this year & treated with rain x (rear window also)
Elec windows
Heated elec mirrors
Usual trip computer, with mpg, temp etc.

Engine:
Just turned 40k, will rise slightly with daily use
APR re-map – Power is between 210-230bhp
APR diverter valve
Forge TiP
Forge FMIC
Green Cotton Induction Kit
Heat Shield
Full custom Piperwerx Turbo back exhaust and sports cat
Colour coded engine cover & inlet manifold

Interior:
Mk5 Golf Flat bottom R32 multifunction steering wheel
Custom made grey and red floor mats
Alpine stereo will be removed before sale, and standard head unit will be re-fitted.

Things to note:
The car is a CAT D, it was registered on 21st December 2006, then written off 16th January 2007, so was not even one month old. It was very light panel damage in the front of the car, and the repair was literally bolt on/bolt off. I have seen pictures of the repair and I can’t believe it was classed as a write off. All I can think is the custom parts for a GTI were more expensive than standard and the insurers chose to write it off. Any inspection is welcome and if you can spot any signs of previous damage then you have a sharper eye than me!

The airbag light is on, I have a vagcom but only works on cars up to 2004, so am not able to switch it off. It has always been on and never been a problem to me. Apparently the previous owner had Recaro CS’s in it and this caused the light to come on.

The management light is on, this is due to the sports cat and map, I can switch it off, and sometimes it stays off for a few weeks, sometimes a few days, again doesn’t really bother me.

There is a very small mark on the driver’s seat, looks like a cigarette burn, it is hardly noticeable, I am very fussy.

One rear light has a small scratch on it (from when I fitted the Lamin X) I have covered it with an OEM Plush sticker.

I cleverly managed to curb one wheel on the rear and have been quoted £30-40 to repair; I will try and get this done before the sale.

It is due a 40k service, this will be done before the sale using all genuine parts by a local specialist, and drop links will be replaced as was an advisory on the MOT last week.

I am not looking to sell any parts separately, and would rather a straight cash sale, but may be interested in a deal for a similar priced or cheaper + cash TDI VAG.

Any inspection welcome

Car is located in the Forest of dean GL16

i love that you can get 350+ miles from a modified gti, how do you drive it?

most people struggle to hit much if any over 200 miles, i never got that when mine was on apr tuned, 240 tops to empty, driving like a saint, now on revo stage 2 mapped to suit my mods its thirstier again, just gone past 100 miles at half a tank marker, probably gonna be about 175 tops to empty

Jesus, really!?! I get well annoyed when it drops below 300 miles let alone 200!!! Tbh I do drive like miss daisy as the roads where I live are pretty horrendous, just nice having the power there if you need it...

You must pump some serious fuel through yours then!

This weekend it had a 40k service, drop links were due to be changed but was supplied the wrong items, correct ones will be fitted this week.

On the case of getting the air bag light switched off also.

Just fitted a new battery which comes with a 5 year guarantee, the other was starting to struggle a little with the colder weather :)

How does a Skoda Fabia vRS sound?
All it needs is a pd150 turbo (£800) and it can be running 230-240bhp 400+lb/ft torque. It has every mod bar the turbo. currently runnning 190bhp 335lb/ft

Got a progress thread on here in the fabia section, or a full in detailed on on tdisport:
http://www.tdisport.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=4776

I get about 450-500 miles to a tank

Ah thanks for the offer dude (it's the 2nd one I've been offered!) but I had a Fabia VRS before that I spent a fortune on!!

Fancy something different this time...

Thanks again though for the offer
