What battery you got in your GTI ?

My battery is giving up on me and I ordered a replacement for my existing Bosch silver one. They have sent me a 43Ah battery with 360 amps but the one that is already in is 480 amps. Could anyone let me know which one is right or what rating your batteries are please.

I bought my GTI from the dealer who said they recharged the battery. Stopped for petrol and car was dead
So jump started it went straight to halfords and got the battery above. It works like a dream and starts first time all the time, even in the winter.
I think the 360 amp one will work but the more power the better

The 'amps' is the cold cranking power - higher it is, the easier it starts.
In mine I have the Halfords 063 calcium 4 year warranty one, which is a very good quality battery same as the above.
If you have a TPS near you though, you can get Varta Platinum and Bosch silver from there for a very reasonable price - and the quality is just as good if not better!

I was actually going to start a topic about this, you beat me to it Neil haha
My battery gave up on me on Monday, seems fine now, but I'd rather change it so I'm not worrying constantly. Don't think it's been changed before either.

About 5-8 years depending on weather and use.

They can last years and years if its a decent battery it all depends on the quality really.
5-7 years in most cases

Well I think it's time mine got changed then considering it's never been changed and lasted 10years.

I stuck with the battery i was sent, which was 360 amps and is a bosch one.
It works ok which is the main thing and although it is undersized both power and size of battery, it is doing its job ok and only cost me £30 with a 4 year guarantee
