the shoes are the two big curved bits either side
You can get them from GSF for under £20

the h/brake on our 9n was very high so we suspected worn out rear brake shoes (100k+ miles), but when we took the drums off there was no problem .
so we adj the hbrake cable which was under a cover behind the lever in side the car , sorted .
IMO if you don't feel confident rear brake shoes are not the place to learn car 'doings' (especially this weather!).
start with the Haynes manual .

step dad used to be a mechanic il make him do it lol, thanks though i keep meaning to pick up a Haynes manual. my step dad also looked at adjusting the handbrake but said the adjustment levels were fine so it had to be the shoes.
thanks for looking out though.
