Hi guys,

whats the best small ariel to replace the standard one with? something which fits the same as the normal one on the base. I tried another one I had but the fitment wasnt right and there was a gap.

cheers

I've got an OEM sharan stubby aerial, but I'm bored of the look now. I'd personally go for a VW shark fin. You can get 'em off eBay for around a tenner. It's not too hard to fit - drop the rear of the headliner, undo a bolt at the base of the aerial, remove the connector and then the aerial. Reverse to fit. I'd say 15 mins tops.

Ash, how does the headliner come off? is it just clipped in?

I swapped mine with my Dad's Zafira. Little bit shorter, better fit on the base too, and it seems to give better reception.
It's also glosier 8) 8)

I've not got round to putting a shark fin on yet. It is clipped in at the back - look at the end of the headliner with the boot open. There's a piece of grey plastic trim that pops out. Removing that trim may be enough to drop the headliner sufficiently...try it out when the weather's a bit better.
