I think that you will need to run another wire into the N/S cluster. I have not done this yet, though I did do this on my B5 Passat early on in its life - it needed a hole cutting out and a bulb holder fitting - but the 9N Polo does not need this doing. One thing though, and this is just a comment and no a real judgment, lots of people think that its better to only have one rear foglight and only on the O/S. Maybe like me, you are concerned that if that bulb fails then you lose all the extra protection that light gives in fog, the answer that the "one light only" lobby will come back with is if you have two lights and the O/S fails then someone might get the wrong idea of where the RHS of your car ends and end up stricking it. As far as I can say, that comment would only ring true if you were being followed/overtaken by a fool!

I'd also say that the same idea could be taken wrt the headlights so that a "one eyed monster" could be mistaken for a bike or - I'd reckon that most manufacturers stopped fitting two lights just to save money.

To get the best of both worlds I might have even fitted a "side selector switch" in the boot so that when driving in Europe I was showing the correct light - but I tend to fly-drive these days so I will not be fitting a switch!

Agreed with above comment - not a lot of point having two foglights as the standard position for most cars foglight is RHS..... but then again cars like the new Mini have the foglight in the centre of the rear bumper - perhaps solving the problem, but in some respects compounding it as you dont know if that middle is in fact the middle, left or right of the car!

Can I take it from this thread that there is no fog light in NSR light-cluster? (2002 Polo 1.2s)?

I noted that there was nothing shining when I bought the car for my boy last week and tested the lights - I assumed it was a blown bulb!

Correct, for a RHD Polo, the reversing light is in the lefthand side cluster, fog light only in the righthand side.
