My insurance renewal has come through and to be quite frank its shocking

I was with Esure paid £450 fully comp 6years NCB and a clean license.....

Renewal from Esure this month - premium £1295 fully comp 7 years NCB clean licence age 24 -no change whatsoever from last year in my details etc (apart from my age and accumaliting another year accident free) but my policy has shot throught the roof!!

Going by the comparison sites my chepest quote so far is as above is with Admiral- fully comp, 7years NCB - £630

Out of interest what kind of prices are you guys/girls paying?

Cheers 8)

£1295 seems crazy money, especially with 7 years NCB

I can only pressume the insurance company may have miss calculated something for it to be that much different.
Everybodys seems to have risen slightly but for yours to be over £800 more there must be something wrong.

Mine was £700 this year with all modifications delcared and 4 years NCB which I thought was reasonable.

I have just gone with swift cover. £379 I think fully comp.

I am 27 with 5 years NCB and yes..........A clean licence.

My old company wanted to put mine up by £100 so I told them I would come and show them where to stick it.

I'm with Swift, Need to renew within next 3 days; I'm 25 Years old, 5 years NCB & clean liscence & they want £570 - which is nearly £100 more than last year. I think it's really steep, but it is still best price around.

I Paid exactly the same when I was 19 with 2 years NCB when I first got the GTI £1400 :) haha
Based on that yours should be £1000 next time and then £700 the year after, thats what I paid anyway

Correction - I had just turned 20 when I got the GTI

Thats the thing, I phoned up Esure as soon as I got the renewal and said what do you think you are playing at (in a roundabout sort of way  ) and they basically said that was the best quote they could give me based on the details they had already. I then asked her why it had gone up so much taking into account I now had 7 years NCB and still a clean licence - her response was that insurance premiums in general had gone up due to the number of personal injury claims etc going up in recent years (ie: no win no fee claims). Ranted for ages and got no where so needless to say I have cancelled come 31st Jan.

Admiral seems to be the best option on all the comparison sites for me at £630 fully comp.

May try Swift if a few of you guys are with them..... just when I thought my insurance would be coming down its shot back up again!

2001 GTi - No Mods - £350 Fully Comp - £75 Glass excess & £250 Accident excess - also covers me to drive cars I don't own - eleventy billion years NCB but pointless as after the first 9 it doesn't mean anything

But I'm Old - Mid 40's

Directline
£500
20 (almost 21)
3 years no claims
Fully comp.

Have tried other places and have found no where as near as cheap.
Attually phoned sky insurance for a quote and I could literally hear his eyes pop out of his head when I told him how much I pay with direct line

Try:

Sky insurance - (not cheaper for me, but...) They've always given my boyfriend good quotes.
And insured him where others wouldn't.

Attually Jacks getting an Ed30 soon so we've been looking into insurance.
Which has been 4-11k everywhere. The best for him
Is

Bell - I think they r associated with admiral. They don't mind mods, doesn't void insurance, they just replace bits with original bits) And they r really nice.
Hes insuring me on it too which has dropped the price. (He's main driver and policy holder so don't worry no fronting, just means I can drive the car, and just so happens price drops).
He's been quotes 2k which is amazing! Specially as he's 21 with only 1 years NCB.

Most people I know have had there Insursnce go up recently when renewing.
The only two I know that hasn't is myself (down £200) and a friend with an 09 plate audi. Was £2k something and has just gone down to 1k something.
