problem selecting gears in 6n2

hey guys i was just reading another thread made by somone about the same problem but didnt really get a proper answer as his gearbox blew up, i have trouble going into 4th and 3rd, i have to pop it back in slighlty to the gear below to select the gear i want, its a 6n2 1.4tdi, any ideas guys? somone said linkages, and im really not sure?
