I bought this sensor as I thought that mine had gone (i.e. airco not working), but that was not the case. So I have this now spare.

Will this fit my 6n2 Polo GTI, and is this the sender which provides the temp read out on the clocks?

Yes and Yes partly. Its a mixture of that sensor and the one in the bumper.

I have a feeling that it's the one in the bumper which is not working as my read out looks like this _ _ _. I know it's not the clocks as I have tried another set.

Where does this sensor fit?

I think its the one near the cabin filter that is this one.

Yes, it is the one near the cabin filter. I bought a new one as I thought that might be the problem of my airco not working, but it wasn't that so I have it spare now.

I put it on ebay as well, but if it has not sold in a week you are welcome for the cost of postage to try it.
