air filter

hey guys, i was given an air filter for the 6n 95-99, it requirs me to remover the whole air box and place this new one on the manifold but when i try to remover the air box there is a thin tube, and also i wire looking thing connected to some small atatchment in the air box can this be removed or taken of and installed again when the box is removed or can it be taken off anyway. basicly how do i fit a new filter that is after market. tips and help woould be very apreciated.
