polo 55 plate 1.4 tdi....yes or no ? should i buy?

Hi all.......ive seen a polo 1.4 tdi (3 cylinder) its done 111,000 miles 2005 car with vw history.......im thinking of buying it.........what the 3 cyl engine like,i.e are the reliable as 4 cyl tdi ,plenty of poke in them? are they noisy?..........what should i look out for any common faults with them?

mines got 165,000 on it and no problems what so ever

is it me or does that seem a little pricey for 6 years old and 100k+ ?
I think you'd prefer the 1.9TDI for that money.

mines 03 and i paid 1500 few minor things wrong like general wear but it was kind of a bargin!

ive had the ones you guys are on about,want the facelift model now.......personally i think 4250 for a 55 plate is ok.

hmm it does seem a bit pricey for the mileage. which model is it?
this is what i bought last year:
Polo 2004 (54-plate) 1.4tdi
53,000 miles
5-door hatchback
Sport model with foggies, 16" barcelona alloys, the LCD climate control and cruise control
Picked it up for £4700...

well you can't go wrong with a diesel even with the high mileage, but i'd still try to look for something with low mileage, just for peace of mind...don't rush into it, you'll prob find something similar with lower mileage with similar price tag and you'll be glad you waited
