Speaking to someone at Inters who works for VW. The GT and Polo (Fun/Trek) are available in September. The Polo fun will be called Polo Dune over here?

The GT will be the 6Speed PD130 engine only, as a 'Special' model apparently.

ooh the polo fun: will it be WILD and WACKY in a way that only the Germans know how. Probably not, also I would be suprised if it will be called the fun, as a blaspemous car company has regestered and used that name for their own evil deeds.

It was based on the Skoda felicia pickup (sorry VW caddy pickup, don't want anybody to think VW rebadge skodas and sell them at a premium)and the rear bulkhead slid out to reveal 2 more seats. It had a 1.6l engine with ABS and the usual gumpf and was painted in a rather nice shade of yellow and had a yellow leather/grey cloth interior.

the pd130 GT can be had for a very resonable ( ) £14650 in 5 door form.

the vRS badge is used by the high and mighty skoda motorsport and although I think the V is just the accent used above the S in the skoda badge, the official line is that it stands for victory.
(well with a sporting pedegree that only ferrari can match who am I to argue)

I think the party line is that Ford threaten to sue for use of RS in the badge go to court S***a win hence the v which as you say is for victory.

The badge has not changed, it is just that as ford were crying over skoda using the rs badge (only in the uk for some reason), skoda simply used the v from the existing model badge to give it the new name (the early Octavias were marketed as RS in this country and both models are still in the rest of europe).

I always thoght VW should have made a polo special edition with white tyres and called it the mint, or am i just being sad.

Good thinking bat(ty)man. They could also have given away a years supply of ring shaped minty sweets as part of the deal. Also the exhaust could be painted in the wrapper of said sweets.

It can't look any worse than that ugly mother of a car with panels a different colour (it was the harlequin I think)
